The effect of maternal weight and gestation weight gain on placental elastrography
Understanding whether maternal obesity influences placental stiffness measured via ultrasound elastrography.
This publication by the Queensland Family Cohort sonography team demonstrated that placental tissue stiffness was highest in obese women and that pregnancy weight gain had a small, yet significant, effect on placenta stiffness.
